During Cindy's time in New York, when her modeling career required that she be in top shape, NY trainer, Radu Teodorescu was responsible for devising workouts that ensured she looked and felt her best. Radu's prescription for a healthy workout was a combination of cardiovascular exercise and strength-training three times a week: 20 minutes on Stair Master and 1 hour of strength training utilizing free weights and machines.
Cindy teamed up with Radu in 1992 to develop an exercise video called "Cindy Crawford/Shape Your Body Workout," which has topped Billboard's Health and Fitness charts since its debut, selling over 2 million copies worldwide. A year later, their follow-up workout, "The Next Challenge," was released with huge success.
Bi-coastally, Cindy often spent extended periods of time in Los Angeles. To guarantee that even when she was traveling she could still remain dedicated to her fitness schedule, she enlisted the expertise of personal trainer, Valerie Waters. Valerie also created a balanced workout consisting of cardio and strength exercises that Cindy has remained loyal to for over a decade, especially now that she calls LA her home.

Often times Cindy is asked how she got back into shape post-pregnancy. Her answer: Hard work and Kathy Kaehler. Kathy Kaehler is a fitness expert often seen on "The Today Show," who after experiencing an 80 pound weight-gain during her own pregnancy with twins, took her own advice and faithfully exercised and ate healthy foods until she got her body back.
In 2000 Cindy collaborated with Kathy to create an exercise video called, Cindy Crawford's "A New Dimension." "It is a breakthrough '3-in-1' fitness program that contains three total body workouts on one video. As a child she wore braces, and lost a younger brother to leukemia. As a teenager, her parents divorced. She dated her high school's starting quarterback, got straight-A's, and was her class valedictorian. Crawford scored perfectly on her college calculus exams and earned a scholarship to study chemical engineering at Northwestern, where she dropped out after less than one semester. Almost immediately, she began working as a model, and she soon blossomed into one of the first 'supermodels'. The work is not without its perils. Crawford has complained of developing a rash and small scabs from putting on and taking off up to 250 different skin-tight swimsuits in one afternoon.
'In my work,' Crawford says, 'I've realized that Cindy Crawford is a product. I decide how to use that image. It's a business.' She has served as celebrity spokeswoman for Revlon, Pepsi, Omega watches, 24-Hour Fitness, Clairol Nice N' Easy, among numerous other products. She has marketed her own fragrances, including Cindy Crawford Joyful, Cindy Crawford Waterfalls, and Cindy Crawford Feminine. She also has a line of skin care products called Meaningful Beauty. In 1994, she posed with several other supermodels for the famous anti-fur campaign, 'I'd rather go naked than wear fur'. Ten years later, following a well-paid change of heart, she became the celebrity spokesmodel for Blackglama, famous maker of mink stoles and other fine furwear.
From 1989-95, she hosted MTV's House of Style. Crawford has also worked occasionally as an actress, most memorably earning disastrous reviews starring opposite William Baldwin in 1995's Fair Game.
